I’m deeply saddened to report the passing of the Ninth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Franklin A. Welch. He passed away on Thursday, June 25th.
Frank relieved me as MCPOCG in October, 2002. He was indeed a true friend and was admired by many.
I’m sure an official ALCOAST message will be forthcoming once further details are known.
Please keep the Welch family in your prayers during this difficult time of sorrow.
